Zella Parmley was born July 6, 1934, and departed this life Tuesday, April 28, 2026, reaching the age of 91 years. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Gertie (Humble) Parmley She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and became a member of Parnell Methodist Church, now known as Beaver Creek Methodist Church.

She is survived by: two brothers, Andrew Parmley and Walter Parmley (Regina); and three sisters, Esther Davis, Geneive Koger, and Vannie Hatfield; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of extended family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Roscoe and Gertie Parmley, she was preceded in death by: four brothers, Narvel, Lilbern, Marion Ingram, and Elvis Parmley; and two sisters, Ruth Baker and Pelba Bell.

She was well known for her cooking and inviting everyone passing by to eat. We called her home Parnell Cracker Barrell. Her home cooked meals was something that might make you want to come back to see her and enjoy another meal.

She loved talking about old times and her life living on the creek before the lake came into existence.

Her memories will live on and her words to you would be: be ready to go and know Jesus Christ as your personal savior. She will be missed.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 2, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Beaver Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.
