IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zebediah
Davis
January 10, 1988 – September 20, 2020
Zebediah "Zeb" Allen Davis
On a Sunday morning, January 10, 1988, a son, Zebediah Allen Davis, was born unto Roger Allen Davis and Lela Ann "Upchurch" Davis. Zeb's birth name represented all that he was to Roger and Lela Ann - " A Gift from God".
On Sunday morning, September 20, 2020, Zeb's life of 32 years ended here on earth. Zeb began a new everlasting life. As God's word says in John 3:16, " For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Zeb professed his faith, was baptized July 30, 1995 and joined the Monticello United Methodist Church where he had been attending since birth. He later moved his membership to Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church around 2014 where he was still a member at his passing.
Life took Zeb down many roads and he enjoyed numerous blessings and faced many challenges, but he seemed to have within him a belief that things would work out how they were supposed to.
Zeb's preschool teacher, Ms. Gayle Ogle, once told his mom that Zeb should be a comedian when he grows up because she had never seen anyone want to make people laugh as much as Zeb did. And from the stories his friends have shared, his humor seems to be a common theme.
Zeb participated in many activities - Little League Baseball until he decided it was too boring. At Monticello Independent School he played Middle School and High School Basketball and played in the percussion section in band. He also played drums in a Southern Gospel group with his dad and grandparents. He had a love for music and as an adult enjoyed playing guitar and singing.
But Zeb's favorite things to do were those involving excitement. The excitement that BMX trick bikes bring, Dirt Drag racing of dirt bikes, and Motocross racing. He enjoyed cars and trucks just like his dad. And his latest interest was woods riding in his RZR. He enjoyed sharing those rides with his precious daughter, Haley.
Zeb worked in several different occupations including grocery store stock person, machinist, counter person at Murphy's and Auto Zone, concrete work, tree trimmer, and several positions at Keystone-Equity Group where he was employed at the time of his passing.
Zeb loved spending time with people and made friends easily. He wanted to do things that included Haley and loved having her join him at the races. Time with his family was important. He and his dad shared the same interest and spent many hours working on bikes and vehicles. And his dad and mom and daughter traveled many miles and spent many hours to enjoy the excitement with him of his motocross racing.
Zeb was loved by many family members and friends and his smile, laugh, joking around, dancing, singing and helping hand will be greatly missed.
Zeb is survived by his daughter, Haley Brooke Davis, his parents Roger Allen Davis and Lela Ann "Upchurch" Davis, and Grandmother Mabel Davis.
Zeb was preceded in death by his Grandparents Roscoe and Montie Upchurch and Grandfather Jesse Davis.
Zeb came into this world on a Sunday morning, January 10, 1988, and he departed on a Sunday morning, September 20, 2020 where he is now in the presence of the Lord for John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you into myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. "
