Wilma Lou Corder Tucker was born on December 22, 1931 and departed this life on April 26, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Steve and Janie Young Corder and was their last surviving child, reaching the age of 90 years.
On October 28, 1950 she was united in marriage to Fred Tucker and to this union 9 children were born; Jimmie (Elsie)Tucker, Helen (Donnie) Gregory, Randall (Gaye) Tucker, Larry (Dianna) Tucker, Carolyn (Calvin) Branscum, Janie (David) Turner, David (Angie) Tucker, Harvey (Jill) Tucker and Kathleen (Jimmy) Coffey.
She is survived by her spouse, Fred, whom she was married to for 71 and one half years, all nine of her children and their spouses, 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren. God blessed them with a family legacy of 123 immediate family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Janie Corder, two brothers, Delmar and Thedford Corder, three sisters, Reba Simpson, Imogene Walker, and Gladys McDonald.
She was saved and baptized in 1957 and became a faithful and lifelong member of Clay Hill Baptist Church in Monticello, KY.
Wilma enjoyed making quilts, working in her garden and flowers, reading her Bible and fellowshipping with her church family. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life and there was rarely a time she wasn't holding one of them.
She was a model Christian woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28, 2022 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at 12 noon at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Clay Hill Cemetery.
