William Stanley Stinson was born January 10, 1934 and departed this life Tuesday, March 2, 2021 reaching the age of 87 years. He was the son of the late Francis and Marie (Neal) Stinson.

He is survived by: his wife, Dicie Stinson; children, Donna (Donald) Rector, Dianna Swartz, Mike (Polly) Stinson, and Connie (Carl) Gray; grandchildren, Waynanne Caudill (John), Megan Davis (Wendell), Beth Burdine (Matt), Emily Butcher (Ryan), Mollie Cross (Brandon), Hensley Myers (Jake), and McKenzie Blevins (Cole); and great grandchildren, Gracie Wilson, Cannon Cross, Cambri Cross, Finley Butcher, Ava Davis, Cooper Cross, Rowan Butcher and Amelia Burdine. He is also survived by: brothers, Larry, Bill and Cecil Stinson; and sisters, Thelma Dishman, Ada Hancock, Carol Gregory, Peggy Sexton and Judy Henson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Francis and Marie Stinson, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Russell and Wendell Stinson; and sisters, Josephine Dishman and Alma Neal.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 2021 between 5:30 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Hicks Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
