William "Buddy" Lawrence Hicks was born January 30, 1957, and departed this life Sunday, February 9, 2025, reaching the age of 68 years. He was the son of the late Lawrence Clyde and Lela Thelma (Sullivan) Hicks.

He is survived by: his wife, Judy Hicks; one daughter, Tammy Beatty; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by:  three brothers, Johnny, Gordon, and Gary Hicks; three sisters, Judy Jones, Melissa Foster, and Rose Owens; and a special niece, Lela Dishman; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence and Lela Hicks, he was preceded in death by: one daughter, Julie Burchett; one brother, Lewis Hicks; and two sisters, Eula Florence Hicks and Reba Ethel Hicks.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Cabell Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: William Hicks Memorial Fund, c/o Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.
