William D. Bertram was born January 14, 1925 and departed this life Tuesday, May 22, 2012 reaching the age of 87. He was the son of the late Herschel and Lillie (Smith) Bertram.

He was united in marriage to Vera Mae Bertram and to this union 3 children were added.

He is survived by: 3 daughters, Kathy (Mike) Mitchell of Monticello, KY, Donna (Ray) Lockard of Posen, IL, and Shirley (Craig) Gann of Lebanon, TN; 8 grandchildren, Melissa, Amanda, Jennifer, Justin, Rachel, Sarah, Kellie, and Kristin; and 4 great grandchildren, Luke, Areal, Hannah, and Joseph. He is also survived by: 1 sister, Norene Sexton of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Herschel and Lillie Bertram, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Vera Mae Bertram; and 3 brothers, Clyde Kenneth, George Howard, and James Bertram.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 2 – 7 pm at the Gap Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 7 pm at the Gap Creek Baptist Church with Bro. David Flagler and Bro. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will be on Friday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 105.
