Wilburn E. Owens was born September 23, 1927 and departed this life Monday, September 1, 2014 reaching the age of 86 years. He was the son of the late Odie and Ila Faye (Cooper) Owens.

He is survived by: his wife, Yvonne (Maynard) Owens; one daughter, Patricia Faye Owens Riley of Indianapolis, IN; one grandchild, Ashley Riley; one son, Phillip Owens of Arizona; and one stepson, Thomas (Karen) Bray of New Castle, IN;. He is also survived by: brothers, Vernon, Orville (Caroline) Owens, Kenny (Teresa), and Ronnie (Susan) Owens all of Richmond, KY, and Gary (Joyce) Owens of Monticello, KY; and three sisters, Mildred (Paul) Johnson of Anderson, IN, Buna (Jerry) Greene of Arizona, and Brenda (Benny) Dobbs of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Odie and Ila Owens, he was preceded in death by: two sons, Michael and David Owens; one sister, Maxine McLaughlin; and one brother, Ernest Owens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2014 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 105.
