Wilburn Dishman was born July 9, 1934, and departed this life Friday, November 17, 2023, reaching the age of 89 years. He was the son of (the late) Joe and Mary Magdeline (Lowe) Dishman.

He married Gatha Alexander and to this union, 1 child was born.

He is survived by his wife, Gatha Dishman; 1 daughter, Sheila (husband Randy) Huffaker; 1 sister, Alice Johnson of South Carolina; 2 granddaughters, Brandy Huffaker (Chris Bertram) and Rachel (husband Lonnie) Chaplin; 7 great-grandchildren, Katie Chaplin (Jakobe), Tanner Floyd (Autumn), Gracie Chaplin, Keelan Dick, Tye Thompson, Jackson Chaplin, Mason Chaplin, and Luke Chaplin; 1 great-great grandchild, Allie Dick: along with a host of family and friends who mourns his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ray, Clay, and Clayburn, Dishman; and 4 sisters, Gussie Hobbick, Pearl Dishman, Gladys Upchurch, and Ellen "Tots" Crabtree.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, between 5 pm - 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
