Wendell Hicks was born March 8th, 1921 in Wayne County, KY and departed this life Saturday, November 23rd, 2002, reaching the age of 81 years. He was the son of Henry Hicks and Amanda Smith Hicks.

He was united in marriage to Modean Moran Hicks, and to this union three children were born.

He is survived by his wife Modean, and two daughters-Sandra Phillips of Louisville, KY and Darlene Adams of Monticello, KY. He is survived by three grandchildren, one great grandchild, along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son who died in infancy-Leslie Lee Hicks, four brothers-Earnest, Clarence, Levy and Everett Hicks and one sister-Velma Hicks.

He served his country faithfully during World War II as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, relative and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Monday, November 25th, 2002 in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 26th, 2002 at 1 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
