Obituary

Wanda Jean Gehring Hill Ledbetter was born September 15, 1938 and departed this life Monday, May 3, 2021 reaching the age of 82,

She was the daughter of the late Martin Paul and Rubye Roberts Gehring.

She is survived by: one daughter, Debbie Hill of Monticello, KY; two sons, David Allen (Debbie) Hill of Sulfur Springs, IN and Larry Brett (Leslie) Ledbetter of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Kay (Margaret) Gehring, Sr. of Monticello, KY and Jerry Barkley (Sherry) Gehring of Columbus, IN; eight sisters, Betty Sue Catron, Janet (Lewis) Gregory, Anna Ruth (Kay) Kindrick, Donna June Gehring, Paula Faye (David) Smith, Kathy Wray (Don) Pickard, Sandra Lee (Glen Edward) Maxwell all of Monticello, KY and Sheila Jo Burke of Salvisa, KY. She is also survived by special friends that she looked to as daughters, Belinda Williams, Kathy Tucker and Linda Lovell and a special caretaker, Clarita Ledbetter. Along with a host of special nieces and nephews, family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Hill, brothers-in-law, Kenneth D. Catron and Charles G. Burke.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Monticello, Kentucky.

She retired from Adanta where she loved assisting the adult handicapped; her clients loved her very much.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 7, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to:  Mountain View Baptist Camp

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
