VEVIA PEARL BERTRAM FAIRCHILD was born February 12th, 1899 in Clinton County, KY and departed this life Sunday, May 25th, 2003, reaching the age of 104 years. She was the daughter of the late William and Nancy Bertram.

She was united in marriage to Kirk Fairchild on October 22nd, 1923 and to this union four children were born.

She is survived by one daughter-Edna E. Brasier of Lawrenceburg, IN and one son-Bruce Fairchild of Monticello, KY. She is survived by six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kirk Fairchild, two children who died in infancy, six brothers-James, Robert, Joe, Goebel, Rueben and Cletus Bertram and five sisters-Belva Braswell, Verina Gist, Rosa Magnuson, Mary King and Gladys Wade.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, relative and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Charity Baptist Church Building Fund in her memory.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 10 AM on Wednesday, May 28th, 2003 in the chapel until the funeral hour later the same day at 1 PM..
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 28th at 1 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery in Clinton County, KY.
