Obituary

Verna Lee Coomer Ott, former owner of Isadora's Boutique, was born November 6, 1946 in Monticello, KY to Carlus Vernon Coomer and Mildred Denney Coomer who both preceded her in death. She departed this life at her home on August 10, 2015.

She was the oldest of nine children born to that union. She leaves behind three brothers, Pete (Jennifer Joseph) Coomer, Joe (Pam Smith) Coomer of Indianapolis, IN and Don (Mary Day Piercy) Coomer of Monticello, KY. She also leaves behind three sisters, Sheila (Joel) Burge, Peggy (Paul) Baker, and Denise (Tommy) Smith of Monticello, KY. She was also preceded in death by her brother Mike and his wife, Karen Coomer, her sister, Anita Coomer, and her sister-in-law, Kim Cherry Coomer (wife of Don Coomer).

On September 26, 1969 she married Billy Joe Ott, her soul mate and love of her life, who survives. Born to that union was one son, Joseph Lee Ott of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Isadora and Loryn Ott of Olympia, Washington. Surviving too are many nieces, nephews, one uncle, two aunts and a host of other relatives and friends all around the world.

Verna accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Rocklane Christian Church of Indianapolis, IN where she later transferred her membership to Mill Springs Christian Church of Monticello, KY.

She pursued her dream of opening a clothing boutique where she loved working and meeting the customers that came to her store over the 13 years she was in business. She loved to travel and did quite extensively both while her husband served in the Army and during their retirement. She loved helping other people, spending time with family and friends, and had a passion for caring for her beloved pets. Having never met a stranger, she made a multitude of friends around the world through her daily interactions on Facebook. Her love, smile and laugh were infectious and will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
