Vera Mae Kennedy was born December 8, 1935 and departed this life Sunday, August 15, 2010 reaching the age of 74. She was the daughter of the late Preston and Ida (Wallen) Bell.

She was united in marriage to James Marshall Kennedy and to this union 6 children were born.

She is survived by: 2 sons, Robert "Bob" Kennedy and Bryan Kennedy both of Monticello, KY; 4 daughters, Marsha Grier of Wetpumka, AL, Susan Burkhead of Savannah, TN, Darlene "Linda" Kennedy and Ida Mae Dean both of Monticello, KY;
16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by: 1 brother, Sam Bell of New Castle, IN; and 1 sister, Shirley Saye of Albany, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Preston and Ida Bell.

The family will receive friends on Monday August 16th after 5 PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 17th at 1 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Stop Church Cemetery.
