Velma Massengale was born September 4, 1926 and departed this life September 27, 2008 reaching the age of82 years. She was the daughter of the late Same and Ethel Carrender.

She is survived by: 2 daughters- Sandra Winchester of Monticello, KY and Judy Stephenson of Frankfort, KY, 7 grandchildren- Kim Jones, Scott Winchester, Tray Stephenson, Michael Massengale, Todd Stephenson, Donna Rednour, and Gary Massengale, and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by: 3 brothers- Samuel, Billy, Herbert Carrender, and 1 sister- Thelma Troxell; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband- Lawrence Massengale, 1 son- Warren "Hack" Massengale, 1 brother- Reed Carrender, and 2 sisters- Wilma Riggs and Lucille Sexton.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 30th after 5 pm
Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 1st at 10 am
Interment: Elk Spring Cemetery
