Velma Ruth Gossage

Velma Ruth Gossage was born August 9, 1932, and departed this life Tuesday, June 30, 2026, reaching the age of 93 years. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Julia (Winchester) Eads.

She married Lester Gossage and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by: one son, Ray (Carol) Gossage and one daughter, Carolyn (Mike) Anderson, both of Monticello, KY; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was a faithful member of Fall Creek Baptist Church until she became unable to attend because of her health.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Julia Eads; her husband, Lester Gossage; and one brother, Odis Eads.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
