Obituary
VELA MARIE KOGER HICKS was born December 15th, 1935 in Wayne County, Kentucky and departed this life Friday, February 11th, 2005, reaching the age of 69 years. She was the daughter of Odie Koger and Dempie Gregory Koger.
She was united in marriage to Waylon Hicks and to this union five children was born.
She is survived by two sons-Harold Hicks of Georgetown, KY and Ronnie Hicks of Cynthiana, KY; three daughters-Judy McDowell of Lawrenceburg, KY, Barbara Gardner of Lexington, KY and Anne Anness of Cynthiana, KY. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Waylon Hicks.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, relative and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday, February 14th after 5 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 15th at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Interment: Burial will be in the Gap Creek Baptist Cemetery.
