Obituary
Vela Lou Gregory was born March 7, 1930 and departed this life Tuesday, September 12, 2017 reaching the age of 87 years. She was the daughter of the late Matt and Nona Mae (Turner) Beechboard.
She is survived by: one son, Howard Dobbs; two daughters, Ina Mae Blevins and Betty Dawes; one sister, Mary Stringer; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Matt and Nona Beechboard, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Donald Gregory; one brother, Leonard Beechboard; and one grandson, Jamie Sweet.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2017 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:
Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery or Hospice of Lake Cumberland
