Branscum
August 9, 1963 – June 27, 2021
Tilda Gail (New) Branscum was born August 9, 1963; the daughter of the late Bro. Delbert and Alberta (Keith) New. She departed this life Sunday, June 27, 2021 reaching an age of 57 years.
On July 2, 1982, she united in marriage with Bro. Rudy Branscum, who survives. To this 38-year union, two children survive: Jason (Wendy) Branscum and Krista (Kenny) Lewis, all of Wayne County. Surviving grandchildren are: Cadence, Olivia, Jasey, and Nicholas Branscum, Haley Davis, Hunter New; and three step grandchildren: Rebecca New, Hanna and Maddie Ward.
Also surviving are eight siblings: Phillip (Susie) New of White, Georgia, Regiel (Freda) New, Sheila (Winfred) Godsey, Kenneth (Nancy) New, William (Susan) New, Delbert Jr. (Lisa) New, Hilda Rose, Steve (Amy) New all of Wayne County.
Tilda accepted Christ as her Savior as a young lady and became a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church, and was a member of the Old Fashion Faith Missionary Baptist Church at the time of her passing. She was supportive of her husband's ministry and dedicated to the Lord throughout her Christian life. She was active in her church as Sunday School teacher, pianist, and singing and any other work that was asked of her.
Tilda worked as an LPN for approximately 15 years, until her health failed. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all who knew her
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
