Thomas "Pooch" Young was born May 22, 1944 and departed this life Monday, October 5, 2015 reaching the age of 71 years. He was the son of the late Ephraim and Alta (Russell) Young.

He married Lela Mae Poore and to this union three children were born.

He is survived by: two daughters, Patricia Young and Mellisa Davis; four grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, and Jonathan Davis and Thomas Joe Tucker. He is also survived by: six brothers, James, George, Charlie, Richard, Ray, and Killis Young; and two sisters, Joyce Tuggle and Betsy Lyons; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Ephraim and Alta Young, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Lela Young; one son, Donald Young; and three brothers, Johnny, Robert, and Jack Young.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Parnell Church of God Cemetery.
