Thelma Jean Ramsey was born May 14, 1954 and departed this life Wednesday, October 5, 2022 reaching the age of 68 years. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Slagle and Stella Pauline (Chriswell) Slagle Winchester.

She is survived by: her husband, Richard Ramsey; two sons, Richard Ramsey and Nathan Ramsey (Hallie); three daughters, Virginia Carrender (James), Barbara Rednour (Hollis), and Taunya Stapleton (Randy); 16 grandchildren, Clarissa Howard (Dave), Joshua Carrender (Anae), Adam Matthews (Brianna), Zachary Coggin (Katie), Ashley Matthews, Chandler Coggin, Desiree Ramsey, Ben Ramsey, Randi Nicole Cooper (Izaak), Tyler Stapleton, Sierra Stapleton, Savannah Stapleton, Nathan Ramsey, Jr., Bret Ramsey, Baylie Ramsey and Ryatt Ramsey; and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by:  one brother, Eugene Slagle; four sisters, Pearl West, Darlene Stinson, Virginia Turner and Barbara Roysdon; and her mother-in-law, Gladys Boydston; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings:  Linda Howell, Glenn Slagle, Johnny Winchester and Lee Winchester.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2022 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Stop Cemetery.
