Obituary

THELMA BOSTON was born August 2, 1910 and departed this life February 10, 2004 reaching the age of 93. She was the daughter of James Thomas Lovell and Mattie Barnes Copenhaver Lovell.

She was united in marriage to Ola Jackson Boston and to this union 13 children were born.

She is survived by: six sons – Gilbert Boston of Brookesville, KY, Milton "Joe" Harrison Boston of Dade City, FL, Maurice Franklin Boston of Somerset, KY, Charles Boston of Monticello, KY, Thomas Boston of Burkesville, KY, and Dan Boston of Monticello, KY; five daughters – Nell Coop, Betty Buckley, Amelia Sue Bassett, and Julia Sims all of Monticello, KY and Carolyn Speer of Houston, TX; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who will mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ola Boston; her parents, James and Mattie Lovell; one son, Ola Preston Boston; one daughter, Joyce Abbott; two brothers, Samuel and Thomas Lovell; one sister, Jessie Lovell; two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the Wayne County Hospital.


Visitation: Friday, February 13 after 4 PM
Funeral Service: Saturday, February 14 at 1 PM
Interment: Elk Spring Cemetery
