Sylvia J. Hicks was born December 31, 1954 and departed this life Thursday, August 20, 2020 reaching the age of 65 years. She was the daughter of Nancy (Corder) Higginbotham and the late James "Jiggs' Higginbotham.

She is survived by:  her mother, Nancy Higginbotham; 2 sons, Jason (Karen) Hicks and Jamie Hicks; 1 daughter, Jeri (Stephen) Debord; 1 brother, Shelby Gene Higginbotham; 2 sisters, Sandra Jo (Jerry) Gregory and Shirley (Sam) Shelton; 7 grandchildren, Cailin, Autumn & Riley Hicks, Tobi McClane, and Cami, Kelci & Levi Debord; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her father, James "Jiggs" Higginbotham, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Jerry Hicks; and 1 sister, Donna Sue Dobbs.

She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2020 after 6 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Taylor's Grove Cemetery.
