Sula "Elaine" Stephenson was born August 14, 1946 and departed this life Wednesday, July 17, 2013 reaching the age of 66 years. She is the daughter of the late Raymond Edgar West and Thelma Jewelene Foster.

She was united in marriage to D.L. Stephenson and to this union 3 sons were born.

She is survived by: her husband, D.L. Stephenson; 3 sons, Johnny Stephenson, Darrell Stephenson (wife Stacy), and Thomas Stephenson (wife Whitney); 5 grandchildren, Mindy Taylor, Breanna Stephenson, Dylan Stephenson, Dawson Stephenson, and Myles Stephenson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Sanali Upchurch and Skylar Taylor. She is also survived by numerous other family members.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 2pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Parnell Baptist Cemetery.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Elaine Stephenson Memorial Fund c/o the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.
