Stephen Ray Choate, born October 25, 1955 in New Castle, Indiana. Passed away peacefully on November 13 ^th at Jean Waddle Care Center, Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

He is survived by: one daughter, Bobbie Jo Choate Klinkerfuss; one grandson, Chanse A. Klinkerfuss; one granddaughter, Jocelyn M. Klinkerfuss; one great grandson, Vladamir Trevino; and son-in-law, Shon M. Klinkerfuss. He is also survived by:  sisters, Carolyn Gunther, Janice Dishman, Joyce Jones, Shirley Daniels, Cindie Hill and Martha Huckaby; brothers-in-law, Garry Jones, Jimmy Huckaby, Randy Dishman, and Dale Daniels; aside from being survived by his loving family, he leaves behind two lifelong friends, Lonnie Abbott and Cindy Honey.

In addition to his parents, Charlie and Marie (Gorman) Choate, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Choate; his sister, Lisa Daniels; and brothers-in-law, Paul Gunther and Homer Daniels.

Daddy was raised as a Christian Baptist. He was kind, loving father, son, brother, grandpa, and friend who loved his family and Jesus.

Daddy loved playing his guitar and used to be in a band. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 22, 2021 between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
