Shirley Brown Shoemaker, the widow of James Preston "Bub" Shoemaker was born October 8, 1935, to C.E. "Ed" and Mattie Hutchison Brown.  Went home to be with Jesus Friday, July 8, 2022.

She is survived by her son, Randy (Jerri) Shoemaker; her daughter, Sandy (Jerry) Carter; three grandchildren, Shane (Brandy) Shoemaker, Chad (Erin) Harrod and Chelsea Shoemaker; two great grandsons, Grant and Will Shoemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Preston "Bub" Shoemaker; parents, Ed and Mattie Brown; brothers, Homer, James and Robert Brown; sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Margaret Altendahl; and granddaughter, Lindsey Nicole Harrod.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, between 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Mill Springs Christian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Mill Springs Christian Church Cemetery Fund or Gideon Bible Plan.
