Shirley Harper was born October 11, 1952 and departed this life Friday, December 17, 2010 reaching the age of 58. She was the daughter of the late Dillard and Callie Lee (Franklin) Poore.

She is survived by: her husband, John Harper; 1 son, Jimmy Casada; 1 daughter, Sheila Hardwick; 1 step son, Jeffrey Harper; 1 step daughter, Sheila Kay Hampton; 4 grandchildren, Callie and Chloe Casada, Amanda Kidd, and Joshua Hardwick; 4 step grandchildren, Latasha Wesley, Dustin and Cody Hampton, and Courtney Harper; 1 step grandchildn, Breyden Cole Hardwick; and 4 step great grandchildren, Michael Wesley, Preston Coffey, Octavia Anderson, and Aiden Hampton. She is also survived by: 4 brothers, Freddie Franklin, James, Paul, and Carl Poore; and 5 sisters, Margie Catron, Alene Johnson, Lois June Barge, Reba Hardwick, and Darlene Herb; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 6 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 11 am at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Anson Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Cabell Grove Cemetery.
