Shirley Crabtree was born September 7, 1948, and departed this life Monday, June 24, 2024, reaching the age of 75 years. She was the daughter of the late Aaron and Zella (Miller) Perkins.

She is survived by her husband, Max Crabtree; one daughter, Julie Crabtree (Scotty Brown); and two granddaughters, Beth Ann Neeley (Andrew) and Deanna Nicole Bowen (Scott). She is also survived by one brother, Aaron Perkins; and four sisters, Wilma Moles, Sinda Keith, Linda Whitaker, and Rosie Bell; special son, David Crabtree; and special friend, Chris Beechamp along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Max Crabtree, Jr.; twin granddaughters, Lacey Nicole and Stacy Leanne Bryant; and three brothers, John Leslie Perkins, James Edward Perkins, and Billy Kay Perkins.

Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling with family, meeting new people, going to church and Horizon. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She and her husband were long time members of Kirkland Assembly in Kirkland, IN, where they were both baptized. She taught Sunday School for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2024, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel with Facebook livestream starting at 12:45pm . Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
