Sherman "Dwayne" Guffey was born August 16, 1967 and departed this life Thursday, September 20, 2012 reaching the age of 45. He was the son of Charles and Ann (Dean) Guffey. He had been residing with his parents in Losantville, IN after an extended illness.

In addition to his parents, Charles and Ann Guffey, he is survived by: 1 daughter, Layla (Joe) Bell of Helenwood, TN; 1 son, Trevor Guffey of Huntsville, TN; and 2 grandchildren, Lashay and Hayden. He is also survived by: 1 sister, Charlotte (Brian) Kirkwood of Greenfield, IN; and 1 brother, Quentin (Shelby) Guffey of Bowling Green, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Sallie and Ester Guffey; and maternal grandparents, Whit and Neva Dean.

Dwayne graduated from Union High School of Modoc, IN in 1985. He lived in Winfield, TN for 22 years where owned and operated Southfork Floor Covering. He was also employed by Jim Varner Log Cabins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 2-4 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 4 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bell officiating. Burial will be in Davis Chapel Cemetery.
