Sarah Joyce Decker was born November 15, 1938, and departed this life Wednesday, March 18, 2026, reaching the age of 87 years. She was the daughter of the late William Earl and Oakley (Penticuff) Cooper.

She is survived by: her son, Denzil McGinnis (Linda); two grandchildren, Amanda McGinnis and Amy Lesco; and two great grandchildren, Joe Lesco and Erin Lesco.  She is also survived by: two sisters, Anna Faye Gregory and Margie Slagle (David); along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

Along with her parents, William and Oakley Cooper, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lyle Decker; one brother, David Cooper; and three sisters, Sophie Shelton, Avo Mason, and Tena Gibson.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2026,  between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Davis Chapel Cemetery.
