IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Faye
Cook
April 14, 1945 – March 29, 2021
Sandra Faye Cooper Cook (Sandy/Miss Sandy) was born to the union of Amanda and John Cooper in London, Kentucky on April 14th, 1945. She attended public school in London, KY and the School of Nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY.
In 1979, she and her family moved to Forest Park, Ohio where she resided until she died at her home on Monday, March 29th, 2021. Sandy lived a life of service and loved kids. While in Lexington, she learned how to teach the Montessori method which she taught in her in-home daycare for 30 years. Some say she helped raise half of Forest Park.
She loved everybody and she made sure you knew it. She took care of you. Sandy's thing was cooking. We all know she could get down in the kitchen and she would throw out a one liner that would have you on the floor laughing all night. She genuinely gave each one of us a piece of her. Whether it was a holiday card in the mail, a greeting at the grocery store, an outfit for your newborn baby or just a simple phone call, you knew she cared. Now please honor her by carrying that genuine piece of her with you for the remainder of your life. She would want you to celebrate her life by living yours!
She was also blessed with many friends who she knew as sisters. Judy Cooper, Barbara Jones, Zorita Reese, Denise Rumphtil, Kulsum Davidson, Tracy Dillingham, Selma Hudson, Cheryl Stewart, Betty Andrews, Marina Walker, Carol Walker – D, Michelle Clark – D, Evonne Rodriquez – D, Eva Spillman – D, Johnetta Anderson – D.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Ronald K. Cooper and Joe L. Garrett and she leaves behind to cherish her memory: two brothers, Benny E. Cooper, John P. Cooper; two sisters-in-law, Judy G. Cooper, Bernadine Cooper, four children, Walter B. Cook, Jeffrey L. Cook, Rhonda M. Pelot, and Jonathan E. Cook; one son-in-law, Matthew A. Pelot; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) N. Cook; four grandchildren, Samantha Haun (20), Hannah A. Pelot (8), Hayden S. Pelot (7) and Harrison M. Pelot (7); one niece, Laura N. Almeida; two nephews, Joey L. Garrett, Leeron B. Cooper; three great nieces, London Almeida, Aubrey E. Cooper and Cora E. Cooper.
