Samuel G. Cummings, Sr. was born May 17, 1934, and departed this life Tuesday, June 6, 2023, reaching the age of 89 years. He was the son of the late Marvin and Beulah (Wilson) Cummings.

He is survived by: two grandchildren, Samantha Cummings and Cody Cummings; and two great grandchildren, Cameron Catron and Carly Cummings; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Marvin and Beulah Cummings, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Geneta Faye Cummings; one son, Samuel Cummings, Jr.; two brothers, Audie Cummings and James Cummings; and one sister, Imogene Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the New Charity Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
