Ruth Rains was born June 15, 1939 and departed this life Friday, November 27, 2020 reaching the age of 81 years. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary "Okal" (Daniels) Hancock.

She is survived by: 2 sons, Dewey Rains and David (Karie) Rains; 1 sister Eula Faye Massengale; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Ima Jean Zipoy, Beulah Hancock & Clara Jane Hancock (who died in infancy); and 2 brothers, Clyde Leon Hancock (who also died in infancy) and Harlan Paul Hancock.

PRIVATE graveside services will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the Edwards Chapel Cemetery. Burial will be in the Edwards Chapel Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. As the number of attendees is limited to 25 people only, a list will be provided to the funeral home by the family.  You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
