Russell "Breezy" West was born December 14, 1942 and departed this life Sunday, September 14, 2014 reaching the age of 71 years. He was the son of the late Sylvester "Todge" and Stella (Russell) West.

He is survived by: his wife, Geneva Ruth (McCutchen) West; one daughter, Shana West; three step children, Larry Bates, Obie Bates, and Lisa Bates Perkins; 9 Grandchildren, Kaleigh Barnett, Dawson Crouch, Crystal Hagan, Lucas Bates, Casey Bates, Brett Bates, Mandi Payton, Jordan Perkins, and Jason Perkins; 5 Great grandchildren, Kristopher Hagan, Chandler Hagan, Caleb Perkins, Bentley Bates, and Paisley Bates. He is also survived by: one brother, Bobby West; one sister, Regina Higginbotham; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Sylvester "Todge" and Stella West, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Phillip and Kay Ramsey.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 after 1pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be Thursday, September 17, 2014 at 10am in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
