Ruby Marcum was born February 21, 1927 and departed this life Tuesday, July 12, 2016 reaching the age of 89 years. She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Tilda (Jones) Owens.

She married Joe Stanley Marcum and to this union four children were born.

She is survived by: one son, Stanley Eugene "Bud" Marcum (Deloris) of Albany, KY; two daughters, Faye Ann Means (Russell) and Geraldine "Gerry" Shelton both of Monticello, KY; one son-in-law, Robert Shelton; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by: two brothers, Leonard Owens of Franklin, IN and Klemon Owens of Albany, KY; three sisters, Dorothy Shelton of Florida, Jean Gregory of Monticello, KY, and Viola "Ollie" Hancock of New Castle, IN; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Vernon and Tilda (Jones) Owens, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Joe Marcum; one daughter, Betty Sue Shelton; one son-in-law, David Shelton; one brother, Cecil Owens; one sister, Hazel Rains; and one grandchild, Kimberly Means.

Ruby was a Christian all her adult life and faithfully attended Fairview Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 15, 2016 after 11 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
