Roscoe E. Bertram, better known as Ross, was born September 24, 1930, in the Shearer Valley community of Wayne County; the was the son of the late William Terry and Artie Bertram. He departed this life December 14, 2022, at home, reaching the age of 92 years. On December 20, 1952, he united in marriage with Elise Bertram; they were married for 70 years.

Survivors in his family include his wife, Elise Bertram, a daughter, Patty Peavie, grandson, Patrick (Regina) Denney, and great grandson, Wesley Denney.

In addition to his parents, Billy and Artie Bertram, he was preceded in death by: four sisters, Arzella (Fred) Hill, Eva (Jim) Tuggle, Nina (Hershel) Slagle, and Ima (Frank) Hancock.

Roscoe had accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man and was a member of New Charity Baptist Church; where he remained faithful as long as his health allowed.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2022, between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, 2022, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Taylor's Grove Cemetery.
