Rosa Lee Abbott was born January 2, 1941, and departed this life Thursday, September 24, 2026, reaching the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of the late Colonel Sowders and Lona Catherine Brown Sowders Bertram.

She married Howard Lynn Abbott; who preceded her in death.

She is survived by: one son, Gary Abbott (Regina); two daughters, Freeda Millsaps and Tanya Smith (Harvey); grandchildren, Nehemiah Stephenson (Peggy), Brittany DeForest (Michael), Tabitha Kennedy (Blaine), Brooke Marchál (Ben), Trajan Smith (Gracie), and Trevett Smith; great grandchildren, Elijah, Evie, and Ella DeForest, Sophie Marchál, Xoe Kennedy, Ava Smith, Caroline, Caleb, Danny, Hannah, Mary, Abby, and Georgiana Stephenson; and her companion, Mike Lewis; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
