Ronnie Kelly Dolen was born July 27, 1949, and departed this life Thursday, March 27, 2025, reaching the age of 75years. He was the son of (the late) Kelly Rankin Dolen and Eileen Faye (Goff) Dolen.
He is survived by his wife Joan Elaine Dolen; one daughter, Tara Elaine Dolen; one granddaughter, Alyssa Jordyn Jewell; one grandson, David Ray Jewell, Jr: who is actively serving in the United States Army.
He is also survived by, one sister, Helen (James) Dolen-Richardson; two sisters-in-law, Sherry Dolen and Patsy (Jimmy) Sexton; nieces and nephews, Natalie (Jeff) Dolen-Edwards, and Leslie (Jason) Somerville; and great nieces and nephews, Evan Edwards, Baylie, Kade, and Kanon Somerville
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Russell Dolen, and Bertie Ray Dolen; loving mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ellen and Dave Scobey.
Ronnie was a member of the Oil Valley Church of Christ and accepted Christ as his savior at a young age. He was a graduate of Wayne County High School, and later earned his Bachelor's degree in Business from Eastern Kentucky University.
He was honored with the highest title by the Commonwealth as a Kentucky Colonel. Having achieved requirements to practice Work Comp laws.
He worked as the GAB Regional Branch Manager, Marsh McLennan as Vice President and Underwriters Safety and Claims as Senior Property and Casualty Adjuster where he helped to settle claims for Kentucky Association of Counties.
Ronnie loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball games. He was a stroke survivor who continued being the loving husband, father, grandfather, relative, and friend that everyone knew. He will be missed by his friends, and his family who loved him very much.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, between 10 am – 12 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 12 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
