Robert Kay Rigney was born September 29, 1957, and departed this life Thursday, August 31, 2023, reaching the age of 65 years. He was the son of Anna Lee (Dobbs) Rigney and the late Robert William Rigney.

He married Terry Bell and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Terry Rigney; two daughters, Kristie Lynn Short (Michael) and Heather Kaye Vaughn (T.J.); and one grandchild, Kayson Stark Short.

He is also survived by:  his mother, Anna Lee Rigney; one sister, Carolyn Brumbaugh (Don); and four brothers, Clyde Rigney (Vicky), Billy Joe Rigney (Tina), James Rigney (Becky), and William Rigney (Susan); along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Ronnie Gene Rigney.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
