Robert Prater was born September 16, 1942 and departed this life on Monday, December 22, 2014 having reached the age of 72 years.

He is survived by: his wife Allene Prater; 2 sons, Robert Allen Prater and Duane Prater (wife Sabrina) all of Monticello, KY; 1 step-son, Scotty Jewel of Monticello, KY; 4 step-daughters, Gayle Jewel and Brenda (husband Teddy) Morrow of Monticello, KY, and Cindi (husband HC) Sumpter and Patricia (husband Larry) Marcum of Nancy, KY; 2 brothers, Jimmy Ray Griswald and Timmy Griswald; and 2 sisters, Dee Dee Griswald and Billie Jo. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 26, 2014 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery.
