Obituary
Richard Murphy was born January 31, 1956 and departed this life Wednesday, April 7, 2010 reaching the age of 54 years. He was the son of the late Billy Murphy, Jr. and Betty (Doler) Chelmo.
He is survived by: his fiancé, Tera Piercy of Monticello, KY; 1 son, David Murphy of Monticello, KY; 3 daughters, Kayla St. Pierre of Springfield, TN, Melisa Chase of Mims, FL, and Christan Piercy of Monticello, KY; and 2 grandchildren, Savannah and Makenzie Chase. He is also survived by: 3 brothers, Kenny Wayne Murphy, Ronald and Robert "Bobby" Hurston; 1 sister, Regan Dane; and 2 wayward sons, Jordan Witt and Cody Pendleton; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
He served his country by joining the US Army in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1976.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 6 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. There will be no public funeral service.
