Richard Thomas Humble was born in New Castle, Indiana on October 23, 1950 and departed this life on October 17, 2025 reaching the age of 74 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Ella Gregory Humble. To this union two children were born. Todd (Toni) Humble and Shannon Humble Foster. He leaves behind five grandchildren: Natalie and Emily Humble, Callie (Than) Wallin, Cade and Carson Foster.  He is also survived by two brothers; Terry (Cherall) Humble of Glasgow, KY, and Donald (Violet) Humble of Monticello and one sister Patsy(Bill) Arnold of Gosport, Indiana,

He is preceded in death by his parents Gladys Humble and George Humble, two brothers Jimmy Humble and Larry (Ima Jean) Humble and two sisters Ina Keeler and Faye Goldman, as well as his grandparents, John and Elizabeth Mae Koger Clark (maternal) and Marion and Emmarine Alley Humble (paternal).

He leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.

Richard accepted Christ at a young adult and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Richard retired after a long career at Belden but being called husband, Dad and pawpaw was his greatest accomplishment. He loved fishing and camping and UK sports. He was always involved from coaching little league sports to helping with the band, as well as trying to attend all the events he could for his children and grandchildren. He loved animals, especially his pets, Maggie, Barkly, and Yoder. He loved music and watching westerns and swinging under the magnolia tree. Mostly he loved to be around his family.  He made special occasions a big deal, and loved to cut up and laugh. He was always ready to listen to anyone and always had fatherly advice, no matter who it was.

He was and is a man who is truly loved and will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 5 PM until 8 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 1 PM at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
