Reed Bertram, of Monticello, passed away February 17, 2026, at the age of 82 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Maude Bertram; sister, Anna Lee Cross; brothers, Wallace Bertram and Phillip Bertram; and son-in-law, Barry Denney.

He is survived by his two children, Alisa Bertram Denney and David Allen Bertram; niece, Patricia Cross Wheeler; and nephew, Gary Cross.

Reed was retired from the Haydon Bridge Construction Company. He was known for his bird hunting passion, handy-man work, and for being a neighborly friend to all in the Old Fall Creek community.

Reed had accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young man.

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2026, between 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
