Raymond Everett Ragan was born December 31, 1923 to parents Charlie and Neva (Jones) Ragan. He passed away October 14, 2013 reaching the age of 89.
His siblings were John Lister Ragan, Irene Raga, and Alleen Ragan Sloan. He married Letha Bernice Massengale on April 12, 1946. His parents, siblings and wife preceded him in death.
Raymond and Letha were blessed with four children, Jeanita and husband, Billy Joe Koontz, Dale and wife, Judy Ragan, Carl and wife, Brenda Ragan, (Carl's first wife Sue preceded him in death), and Marilyn and husband, Mike Brown; grandchildren, Todd Koontz, Mark Koontz, Jennifer Ragan Crabtree, Chris Ragan, Rachel Ragan, Mary Ann and husband, Phillip Cox, Michael Allen and wife, Cristi Brown; great grandchildren, Robert Koontz, Michael Scott Vaughn (deceased), Chelsea, Adrianna and Seth Ragan, Michaela McKinley, Braxton and Bearett (Bear) Brown; great-great grandchildren, Kaden Houp and Sophia Lynn Koontz.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from12pm - 3pm in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:
