Ray Joe Vaughn was born August 29, 1959, and departed this life June 18, 2023, reaching the age of 63 years. He was the son of the late Ambrose and Cora (Gregory) Vaughn.

He is survived by: his wife, Myrtle Vaughn; four stepdaughters, Melissa Upchurch, Dawn Jones, Amanda Sue Vaughn, and Holly Nichole Phillips; one stepson, Alex Cody Vaughn; one brother, Larry Vaughn; and five grandchildren, Brianna Upchurch, Bentley Phillips, Jordan Jones, Cassie Stephens and Erica Jones and several great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Ambrose and Cora Vaughn, he was preceded in death by: his 1st wife, Betty Vaughn; his grandchild, Brittany Upchurch and another infant grandchild; brothers, Othal, Edmon, Dillard, James, Millard, Milton, Denver, David, and Robert Lee Vaughn.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Bud Gregory Cemetery.
