IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randell Freddie
Shelton
September 9, 1947 – February 2, 2025
Randell Freddie Shelton was born on September 9, 1947 to the late Fred and Pearl Shelton. He left this Earth to reside with his Heavenly Father on reaching the age of 77 years.
Freddie grew up with seven brothers. One of which survives, Welby Shelton. He was preceded in death by six other brothers: Wesley, Alvin, Everett, Glen, Luther, and Daryl Shelton. He united in marriage to the love of his life, Linda on March 20, 1971, who also preceded him in death.
Freddie is survived by one daughter, his pride and joy, Charlotte. One son-in-law, who was more like a son, Thomas. And two grandchildren, who were his absolute world, Titus Grey & Eliza Wren. Freddie is also survived by a host of extended family, and friends who were more like family.
Freddie served his country in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969 in the US Army. He received a multitude of awards for his service & continued to serve in latter years by taking on role of Chaplain in the local chapter of the DAV.
Freddie was also a proud, long-term member of Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Where he also served many years as a Deacon and a Teacher. He accepted the Lord as his Savior as a young man & spent countless hours studying his Bible & spreading the Gospel.
Freddie also spent many years after returning from Vietnam as an electrician. He later transitioned into appliance repair. He was known to everyone as "the appliance man." He ran his own business, Shelton's Appliance Repair, until his health could no longer allow him to do so.
He most enjoyed meeting new people through his work. Freddie held many titles. Among his favorites were the titles of Husband, Dad, & Pa. He will be forever missed by those who were blessed to know him.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, between 6 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home and Thursday, February 6, 2025, between 8 am – 1 pm at Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 1 pm at the Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
