Randall Lee Rains was born May 8, 1940, and departed this life Saturday, February 21, 2026, reaching the age of 85 years. He was the son of the late Raymond Cyrl and Ruby Edna (Hancock) Rains.

He married Carol Ann Ferguson and to this union four children were born.

He is survived by: three sons, Mark Rains (Karen), Greg Rains (Rhonda Angel), and David Rains; and one daughter, Susan McGinnis (Jerry); grandchildren, Jerena McGinnis, Sara Shelton (Danny), Shellie McGinnis (Jeffrey), Jimmy McGinnis (Hailey), Hannah Rains, Michael Rains (Corteney), Matthew Rains, and Katherine Rains; and great grandkids, Austin Shelton, Gabrielle McGinnis, Kaleigh Shelton, Dakota Shelton, Logan Shelton, Skyler Land, Addison Land, Hudson Land, Wyatt Franklin-McGinnis, Noah Rains, Carson Stapp, Tucker Stapp, and another granddaughter on the way; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Carol Ann Rains; one brother, Billy Rains; two sisters, Christine Buchanan and Opal Huffaker; and one great granddaughter.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Gap Creek Cemetery.
