January 3, 1941 – October 27, 2023
On October 27, 2023, Phillip Ray Eller of Monticello, passed away peacefully in his home. Phillip was a retired local National Guard member, retiring at the rank of First Seargent. He also retired from working for the State of Kentucky.
He was born on January 3, 1941, in Monticello, KY. The son of Ray and Dorothy (Stockton) Eller.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Thompson on October 21, 1961, and to this union, two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Dorothy Eller; his brother, David Eller; and his grandson, Perry Denney.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Eller; his brother, Johnny Eller (Wanda); and one sister, Mary Jo Eller-Winters. He is also survived by his son, Rankin Eller, and his children, Felicia Eller and Levi Eller (Ashley), and his daughter, Peggy Denney (Ralph), and her children, Haley Copus (Beau) and Amanda Massengale (Michael). He also was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Phillip attended Monticello Church of Christ. He was a member of the Bass Club. And he loved horses.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In-lieu-of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the National Guard through the Wayne County Extension Office.
A private service will be held for the family at a later date.
Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
