Peggy Staton was born August 15, 1936 and departed this life Monday, January 17, 2022 reaching the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of the late Millard and Nora (West) Poore.

She is survived by: two sons, David Dale (Cindy) Staton and William James (Alicia) Staton; and one daughter, Eva (Bro. Ernest) Mann; six grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, Patrick, Ginny, Tessa, and Ryan. She is also survived by: one brother, Ridley Poore; and one sister, Carolyn Harney; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Millard and Nora Poore, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard Dale Staton; an infant daughter; one son, Roger Glenn Staton; one grandson, Jason Mann; one brother, Leonard Poore; and two sisters, Chestine Sloan and Juanita McCann.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 22, 2022 between 11am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Piercy Cemetery.
