IMA PEARL MASSENGALE BERTRAM was born June 17th, 1920 and departed this life Friday, October 5th, 2007 reaching the age of 87 years. She was the daughter of the late Jack Massengale and Lizzie Neal Massengale.

She married Johnie Earl Bertram on May 3rd, 1941 and to this union six children were born.

She is survived by two sons-Bob (Faye) Bertram and Bill (Sue) Bertram and three daughters-Connie Bertram and Joyce (Ronnie) Taylor, all of Monticello and Carolyn (Darrell) Shearer of Berea, KY. She is also survived by two brothers-J.W. and Gene Massengale and two sisters-Lucille Kennedy and Alta Hancock. She has 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren (1 deceased) and 3 step great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnie, one son-Eddie "Tank" Bertram and one sister-Bessie Brown.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Sunday, October 7th, 2007 in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Monday, October 8th, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Thacker officiating.
Interment: Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
