Obituary

Pauline Loretta Rigney Brown, hometown of Monticello, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord and those gone before her, at the age of 84. She was born September 11, 1936, in Nora, Kentucky, to her wonderful parents, Lewis Rigney and Sophie Penticuff Rigney. She was the middle child of 5 children, and truly was the glue of her family.

In 1954 she married William "Bill" Dishman, in which she gave birth to three children who survive her, Wanda Dishman of Monticello, Ky, Vonda (Kent) Van Ostrand of Freeport, Illinois, and Nathan Dishman of Byrdstown, Tennessee. From there, she has 9 surviving grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Her grandchildren, Crystal Terry of New Castle, Indiana, David Terry, Mitchell McGuire, Daniel Dishman, Austin Dishman, and Angela (Joe) Clark of Monticello, Ky, Olivia "Sunshine" (Rob) Myers of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Mahala (Keith) Russell of Pecatonica, Illinois and Judah (Glorybel) Van Ostrand from Freeport, Illinois. Great-grandchildren, Bryant, Derek, David Jay, and Billie Evans of New Castle, Indiana, Breanna and Dave Terry, Jenessa Piercy, all of Monticello, Ky, Alyssa Strykowski of Indianapolis, Indiana, Katelyn, Alyssa, Joshua Myers, of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, and Judson and Kassidy Van Ostrand of Freeport, Illinois.

Pauline worked at several places. Monticello Shirt Factory, Jean factory in Monticello, Jerry's restaurant as a waitress in Somerset, Ky, the hostess with the moistest at Hotel Baker in St. Charles, IL as well at a furniture factory there. She also was a representative of Avon and a great party-giver of Tupperware. She also became a home care person before becoming ill several years ago and finally bedfast the past year or so.

Throughout her long life, she was always a person of generosity. Giving of her time, money, and care to not only her family but to anyone in need she would come across. She would give even when she needed it. She never knew a stranger, always welcomed anyone to her home. And when she loved someone, she loved them with all her heart.

She loved flowers, kittens, and family. She also loved sewing and making quilts. She made a lot of her kid's clothes when they were growing up. And out of the scraps, she would make beautiful quilts. She made quilts for all her kids, grandkids, and some for friends and relatives. Quilts represent her life. She was given a lot of scraps in life, but she always seemed to make a beautiful quilt out of them.

We will miss her smiles, her laughter, and her humor. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Till we meet again…

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Felix Rigney, 3 sisters, Tena Sharp, Mary Coffey, and Lois Gosser, and 1 great-grandchild, William Joseph Evans, 1 great-great-grandchild, Serenity Evans, two nephews, Kenneth Sharp and Ernest Coffey, one niece, Drunetta Rigney, and one great-niece, Jessica McLin.
